woah a journal update

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 10:57 PM
In an effort to be more of a presence on deviant art, and to stop lurking about peoples brilliant pages and start participating I have decided to start updating again, to start commenting more on peoples art, and to try and use this as a platform for commissions and a general sharing of art. and exploring other art forms as well.
I'm having to find new ways to create because I have developed carpel tunnel AND tendinitis in both hands and arms. It makes even the simplest for of metal smithing difficult and painful. I am resting my arms as much as possible and wearing braces all of the time, but I miss working with metal terribly.
So perhaps I will take up photography or start drawing again. I am applying to grad schools across the world and waiting to take the next step in my life and move forward from stasis. I can't keep the past current, I can't see the future, and the present snaps like twigs underfoot. and all that makes me incredibly sad yet hopeful sometimes.

That's a real shame, poor you. On the bright side I thought it might help you to know that I too have suffered carpal tunnel syndrome (but not tendinitis). I had an operation for it in April this year and although it put me out of action workwise for a quite a while (before and after), I now have full use of my hand and all the feeling and movement back in my fingers. Hopefully they'll find something that will help you. You have my best wishes that it all gets sorted out. Good luck!

Oh my god! Katie lives! ;)

I hear you on your entry, though. I'm crossing my fingers that tax season gives me enough money to relocate back to CA and finish my music degree. I'm getting tired of treading water. : \

Thank you MicheleCobb, I've been hearing good things about the operation and a little down time would be worth being able to use my hands properly. By the way I adore your plique-a-jour earrings

And good luck Al! Get back to the west coast!
